Happy St Valentines day xxxx

Happy St Valentine's Day!!

My idea of heaven - shoes!!!

I found this photo 'floating ' around in the ether - think it's from Vogue in the early 1940's. My idea of heaven!! Would love to have the real thing in my collection!!

Less than a week to go until the first Frock Me of 2012 - can't wait. I've got some fab hats for sale - a mixture of summer and winter (well we are up to our ankles in snow in some parts of the country!)

Primrose Hill this Sunday

Well the first trip to London of 2012 beckons.  Taking some fantastic hats and bags together with costume jewellery to die for!!  Hope to see you there x

Merry Christmas!!

May I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!

Thank you for your support throughout 2011 - here's to 2012!!

Twitter

You may have noticed that there are now Twitter posts on this page.  I finally got around to signing up for this a few weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it.  You can follow me ---  @pussyfootvintge --- no it's not a spelling mistake but I couldn't get the name in full as it was too long - very strange!

Wedding Belles

I've been buying some beautiful hats, bags and outfits especially for a Vintage Wedding Fair I'm standing at in a few months time.  I've put photos of some of them on the website.  Have also been aquiring some lovely pearl and bridal jewellery.  For details of the fair see my diary dates page.

Fairs

Only two fairs left this year for me - Vintage Fashion London on November 20th and Frock Me on November 27th.  So that means some free weekends to go shopping for Christmas and to replenish my stock.  What fun!!

Updates

It's been a busy few weeks - a few fairs, sorting stock for the shop and life in general.  I'm also waiting very impatiently for a load of fantastic hats I've ordered from the USA - hope they arrive soon!!.

New arrival!!

After a very busy weekend -  rugby, Frock Me Vintage fair and waiting excitedly to hear the news of a new arrival, I'm thrilled to announce that Charlotte Uaneen arrived at 2am this morning weighing in at 8lb 8oz.  Congratulations to our nephew David and his partner Aiofe.  Can't wait to meet her so I feel a trip to Dublin coming on!!

Frock Me! this Sunday

After a very wet and windy journey to the Vintage Fashion London fair in Primrose Hill last Sunday I hope the weather will be better this weekend for our trip to Chelsea.  I'm really looking forward to Frock Me!  Can't believe it's the last but one fair this year.

I've got some wicked hats for sale, stunning evening bags that will be fantastic for all those Christmas and New Year events you're going to (did I just use the C word?) and warm and toasty winter coats.  Talking of Christmas, I'll also have some beautiful 1960s cocktail dresses and a stunning 1980s Chloe evening dress that's simple, elegant and very classy.

Hope to see you there xx

More retail therapy!!

This time of the personal kind.   A weekend away in Birmingham with friends, for the 75th Anniversary of Ladies Circle,   and as always we ate and drank too much!!   As an antidote to all the food we had a wander around the Bullring and after lusting after at least a dozen pairs of shoes I settled on a pair of black suede wedges with huge leather bows.   Very smart and suprisingly comfortable (mind you I've not really worn them far as yet).

Plan more retail therapy of the vintage kind at the Bristol Retro market this Sunday - hope Lexie has the badger under control!!!!

Retail therapy!!

Indulged in a little retail therapy this week.   Among my purchases, a fantastic 1950s Antler suitcase and a beautiful 1960/70s Aquascutum coat.     The case is a creamy beige colour in mock python/snake skin and is in stunning condition.   It looks great with the coat which has a very 1940/50s style to it.   Both will be on sale at the 'Vintage Fashion London' fair in Primrose Hill on October 9th waiting to be whisked away for a romantic weekend.

Tedi in trouble!

Those of you who have read my Facebook page will know that Tedi my black cat (not lucky!!) has shredded two beautiful 1950s Schiaparelli ties.  He discovered his brother's hiding place at the top of the wardrobe but instead of climbing  the shelves like Taffi he used my husband's tie rack as a climbing rope!  I'm too afraid to look at the rest of the clothes in case it wasn't the first time he'd been moutaineering!!!

Blonde v Brunette - which do you prefer?

September

A brilliant day at Frock Me yesterday.  Met some very interesting people and sold loads of goodies.  Happy Birthday to Mel of Mela Mela Vintage (21 again!!)  and good luck to Martin who is taking part in the Great North Run next Sunday.

I've taken loads more bags and clothes to the shop (A Vintage Affair) in Cardiff - pop in if you''re near and take a peep.

A few free weekends coming up, what shall I do with my time off?  Mmmm, may do nothing at all!

Frock Me!!

Only 12 days until the next Frock Me! at Chelsea - can't wait.

I've decided to take winter coats and evening wear as it's almost Christmas!!!   (Well the weather feels more like December than late August).  I'll also have fantastic titfers and jewellery to die for!!  Hope to see you  there! xx

Blind Lemon at Hungerford

Had a great day at the Blind Lemon fair in Hungerford yesterday.  I hope Edwin is planning another one there soon.

Off to Cardiff today to add more goodies to the shop.  I've got some super 'kelly style' handbags - just perfect to carry all your bits and pieces and some lovely 1960s shoes.  Pop in and see for yourself.

A few free weekends - gardening and decorating loom.  Would much prefer to be at a fair but I'll have to wait until September 11th and Frock Me at Chelsea.

A Vintage Affair

Remember me saying I'd be moving into a unit in a fantastic vintage shop in Cardiff - well I moved in yesterday!!  Yippee.  The shop is called 'A Vintage Affair' and it's in Morgan Arcade just opposite a really, and I mean a really good coffee shop.  I'm on the second floor with the very entertaining Edwin Dyson of Blind Lemon Vintage and a few other dealers.

I hope you'll call in if you're in town!!

Best wishes

I hope all my friends and customers in London and across the country are safe and well.  Thinking of you - keep safe xxx

A Vintage Affair

Well, I know when I'll be moving into 'A Vintage Affair' in Cardiff - Monday 15th August.  I'm really excited about this and I've been very busy choosing what to put in the unit.  There'll be some fantastic clothes, hats and bags, all at reasonable prices.  I've decided to take some Dior and Miriam Haskell jewellery as well.  The Dior necklace dates from the 1970s but is still very comtempory in design.

I hope you'll pop in to the shop if you're in Cardiff xx

Exciting news!!

Well, what an exciting week this has been and I've got exciting news!   Pussyfoot Vintage will be renting a 'unit' in a fantastic shop in Cardiff called ' A Vintage Affair'.  It's situated in the beautiful Victorian  'Morgan Arcade', not far from St Davids Centre. I'll have hats, bags, jewellery and clothes for sale from the 1940s to the 1980s.

Don't have a date for moving in as yet but I'll let you know as soon as possible. I'm  really excited!!

Harry Potter

Harry Potter - so the final instalment is upon us.  Loved the pics from the red carpet - Helena Bonham Carter was stunning as usual.  She has such a unique style and I love it!!. Hollywood glamour meets street with a little of the Chelsea flower show mixed in for good measure.  I also love the fact she doesn't go in for the 'orange tan' look.  Every inch the pale and very interesting!!

Updates

Happy July the 4th!  Hope everyone has had a great day.

A quiet day at Anita's Notting Hill fair yesterday - the weather and the tennis perhaps.  Unfortunately I won't be able to be at her fairs later this year.  Never mind though - there's always next year.

A little nearer in time than 2012 is July 10th 2011 - and the Vintage Fashion London fair at Primrose Hill.  Bags, hats and summer frocks galore.   Hope you'll come along and see what I've got for sale. xx

Sunday at Notting Hill

Really looking forward to this Sunday at Anita's Vintage fair in Notting Hill.  As usual I've got a lovely selection of hats and bags for sale and some really cute 1970s summer dresses that are just right for the festival season.  If you want 1980s chunky earrings then I've got just what you're after.

I saw the news footage of a regular visitor to Anita's fair, Annie Lennox, receiving her gong!  She looked stunning in a 1950s ensemble.  Wonder if she'll be at the fair this Sunday?

New items added!!

Too hot for gardening so I've been busy photographing items to add to the website.  Some fabulous 1980s earrings - big and chunky, 1950s earrings small and cute.  A few bags and some lovely necklaces.  Hope you like them!

Birthday pampering!

Last Sunday at Frock Me was brilliant - sold lots of hats to ladies going to Royal Ascot.  One lucky young woman was treated to a very special hat by her dad for her to wear in the Royal Enclosure!

There's a few weeks until my next vintage fair but this weekend it's my birthday and I'm being treated to a pampering spa day at the Celtic Manor hotel - can't wait. I've decided to give the old tootsies a treat with a pedicure and I'm having my face resurfaced (their description) with a facial.  Dinner out will complete my treats!.  Just need to decide what to wear and more importantly which handbag to take.

Frock Me!!

A great day at Vintage Fashion London's fair on Sunday - met some interesting people including Shane Burroughs, CEO of Californian based LeLuxe Clothing Co who specialise in vintage inspired costumes from the 1920,s. Check out their website for some great jazz age clothing - www.leluxeclothing.com

I also sold some wicked 1950s hats to some very classy ladies - hope they have fun wearing them.   One lady was matching her hat to her husband's classic car, a Jowett Javelin.,  Now that's what I call style!!

So now I'm sorting out what to take to Frock Me! this Sunday in Chelsea.  Will have loads of hats and fabulous hanbags with me, so if you've left it to the last minute to find that perfect outfit for Royal Ascot then pop along to the fair.  Don't forget to look for the zebra print cloths and you'll have found Pussyfoot Vintage!! (I'm in the main hall if you need another clue!)

See you Sunday xx

Primrose Hill

A lovely start to the weekend - a spot of tidying the garden followed by loading the car with the goodies I'm taking to the Vintage Fashion London fair in Primrose Hill tomorrow.

I've got a lovely selection of jewelled handbags which are the perfect accessory for a summer outfit.  They have plenty of style and plenty of room for you to carry the confetti for the wedding or your winnings at Royal Ascot!!!!  Come along to the fair and see them close up - you'll fall in love with them for sure.

Sunday

Frock Me! at Chelsea this Sunday = an early start but hopefully a great day.  It usually is!  Just off to pack the goodies I have for sale ready to load the car tomorrow

Hope to see you there xx

News!!

Back to work this weekend - Sunday 15th May Frock Me! at Chelsea.  I'll be taking some fab fab 70s maxi dresses just right for romantic Summer picnics.  Floaty and feminine.  Then again I have some very sexy 60s long dresses that are perfect partners for Pimms in the evenings!!  Almost forgot!  Also have some fantastic Summer hats for sale so if you need that perfect titfer for a wedding come along and see me this Sunday.

The look says it all

The look says it all!!

Congrats!!

Hope everyone is looking forward to the wedding tomorrow!  Can't wait to see the fashions - all those hats!  I'll be glued to the TV.

Have a great day everyone xx

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone. Just for once the bank holiday weather seems to be on our side - so it's into the garden I go!!

This weekend

Vintage Fashion London fair in Primrose Hill this Sunday - put your running shoes on a come along (those of you not involved in the marathon that is) - promises to be another superb fair!

Good luck to all the members of Ladies Circle and Round Table running the marathon in aid of various charities  - especially RTCW!!

What's happening

A great day at Frock Me! last Sunday.  My stash of 50's lace blouses is now sadly depleted so I'll have to go hunting for more - yippee! Any excuse to go shopping.  I do hope that the lady who bought the Schiaparelli earrings will have great fun wearing them, they looked fab.

Well, that was last weekend now for this weekend - the Vintage Fashion London's fair at Primrose Hill.  Looking forward to it and hope to see some of you there.

Glorious weather!!

Hope everyone is having the same fantastic weather as we are.  The garden is blooming and I've uttered those dreadful words 'the lawn needs mowing'.  Hope to get that job out of the way this weekend.

Another free weekend next week and then off to Chelsea for the Frock Me! fashion fair on April 10th, can't wait. I'll have some fabulous things for sale at Chelsea - 'to die for' summer hats, beautiful summer blouses and stunning jewellery to show off that summer tan. (Bit of a theme going on here methinks!!)

Free time

After a fantastic holiday in Rome (not a great 6 Nations match but at least we won) I've got a few weekends free.  Mind you the cats wake at an ungodly hour so don't expect to get many lie ins.

I've been buying bits and pieces - some fantastic bags, 1970s hippy print dresses and very cute 1950s blouses that will look stunning with capri pants or a floaty skirt for that boho chic look.  I've also managed to find some stunning Schiaparelli jewellery, very classy and timeless.  They'll all be avaiable at Frock Me! in Chelsea on April 10th.  Come along and see.

The latest news

Had a great day at Frock Me! in Chelsea last Sunday.   Another celeb to add to the list - Zoe Ball and her family.

A lovely young lady from the Netherlands bought a pair of 1950s Schiaparelli gold shoes and matching bag for her wedding.  She was so thrilled that they fitted as she had been looking for ages for just the right pair and couldn't believe her luck.  I'm sure she will look fabulous on her big day in June.

This weekend Pussyfoot Vintage will be at the Blind Lemon fair in Cheltenham.  Hope to see you there!!

On the personal front - a better score in the rugby on Saturday against Scotland (sorry to any Scots reading this) - so now bring on the Italians!!!!

Well Frock Me!!

A great day at Cardiff for the Blind Lemon fair - it was buzzing!   Home in time to unload and relax in time to watch TV with a glass (or two) of wine.

This Sunday is Frock Me! at Chelsea.   Always enjoy this fair - always busy, always celebrity packed.   Doesn't get any better.  Hope to see many of you there.

I'll have a lot of stunning hats for sale including two fab, fab, fab ones by Schiaparelli - a frivolous pink floral full hat and a very elegant cream silk, beaded cap (both ideal for THE wedding of the year - you know which one I mean!)

Cardiff this weekend!!!!

Bad start to the weekend - well the players who've signed for clubs in France can flipping well stay there for all the good they did last night (I'm talking about the rugby) - still never mind it's only a game. (Try telling that to my husband!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

The capital city of Wales is host to   another major event this weekend as well - the Blind Lemon vintage fashion fair at City Hall - for more info about times, directions etc go to my diary page and click on the link to Edwin's website.   This is a great fair for both sexes as there are always several dealers, including Pussyfoot Vintage, selling blokes stuff .   I've got a wicked selection of ties, hats and coats (just what you need in this weather - a coat to keep your body warm, a hat to keep your head warm and a tie to keep your hat on!)   If you get to the fair come along and say hello to me - remember the zebra stripe table cloths.

Well another cuppa calls - can't function properly without tea!!   xx

Jottings

Last Sunday was my first fair of the year (run by Vintage Fashion London) - with any luck the rest of the year will be as good!!

A free weekend coming up - well not really , off to an auction that hopefully will have lots of goodies for me to buy.  If I'm lucky then you'll see them on here or at the fairs in the near future.

Just to remind you - February 6th - I'll be at Cardiff (Blind Lemon fair) - so a lie in for two Sundays! What bliss.

Well, have to sign off now as the post woman has just delivered a large parcel that I think (fingers crossed) contains the hats I've ordered from America.  I'ts been sitting on the table opposite me and I CAN'T wait any longer.  xx

Happy New Year!

A new year, exciting prospects, fun times.  That's what I told myself - then we discovered the leak in the kitchen.  Writing this while sitting wrapped in a blanket (no heating or water) as the kitchen fitters finish off the new units with the back door wide open.  That's it, I'm never celebrating new year again, at least until December!!!

I've been updating the website with lots of new pictures (had to do something to keep warm) but haven't put them in the online shop yet.

One more free weekend before back to the Vintage fashion fairs - kicking off in Primrose Hill on January 23rd then Cardiff on February 6th (Check the fairs page for further details)

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Sitting on the sofa last night I thought to myself  'the cat's up the tree, I've just eaten another mince pie and there's the usual rubbish on TV.  It must be Christmas!!'

Having a few free weekends but not being able to get out much because of the snow. Still, the view from our bedroom window is breath taking - everywhere is shimmerimg white.  The trees and the distant hills make the perfect backdrop for Christmas - let's hope it lasts a few days longer.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year everyone and see you in January 2011.

Sue xxxx

Christmas is coming

Yesterday was the last fair for a while so now to get ready for Christmas.  Can't wait(?!!) to see what the cats make of the Christmas tree or how long it will take them to demolish it.

Merry Christmas everyone and a very happy new year!!

Daisy Lowe

Despite it being a very quiet day at the Ashley Hall fair in Bath I did sell a superb 1950's fedora to top model Daisy Lowe.  Even though it was early in the morning she till looked stunning.  Her Mum Pearl was with her - looking for inspiration for more fabulous frocks to wow the high street with perhaps?

Daisy Lowe

Updates

A very strange and busy few weeks - family problems, illness and general laziness!!  Hasn't stopped me from having a great time at recent vintage fairs.  Can't believe I've only got three to go before Christmas - this Sunday Ashley Hall at Bath, then the next two Sundays I'll be at Anita's in Battersea and Frock Me! in Chelsea.  Hope many of you will be there too.

Great niece Dulcie is growing (now 8 weeks old\) and we got to see her for the first time last week.  Know I'm biased but she is the most beautiful baby in the world!!

What a few weeks!!!

What an exciting time October has proved to be.

A great fair in Swansea thanks to Edwin of Blind Lemon Vintage. Rushed off our feet all day despite the torrential rain outside.

Our kittens both celebrated birthdays - well they didn't really but you know what I mean!  One year old and stll going strong.  Can't believe it's been almost a year since we adopted them from the Cats Protection League.

However, the MOST EXCITING news by far is the arrival at 7lb 10oz of baby Dulcie, the beautiful daughter of our niece Helen and her partner Tom.  Can't wait to see her! Congratulations to them and to the new grand parents Mike & Avrill.

Off to Anita's Vintage fashion fair in Notting Hill this Sunday - see the fairs page for more info.

News

Sunday was a great day at the Clerkenwell vintage fair - very busy and the time passed quickly.

Saw actress Anna Friel again - hope she bought the red coat I saw her trying on as she looked stunning in it.

A lie in today as a visit to the dentist was on the cards - good news  - don't need as much work done on a wonky tooth as I thought so I can spend the money on something else - shoes methinks!!

I'll have a lie in next Sunday as well as Pussyfoot Vintage will be at the Blind Lemon fair in Swansea - see my fairs page for more details.

Primrose Hill & Frock Me!

Had a great day at the Vintage Fashion London fair in Primrose Hill.  Sold a Schiaparelli cardigan and a jumper hand knitted by my Gran in the 1960s to Lorraine Kirke of Geminola in New York.  For the rock chicks among you Lorraine is married to Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke.

This Sunday it's Frock Me! at Chelsea  -I'm sure this will be a fantastic fair as usual.  Hope to see some of you there!

Sunday 12th September

This Sunday I'll be at the Primrose Hill fair run by Vintage Fashion London - see the diary dates page for further details

September fairs

After a really great Bank Holiday I'm now preparing for a busy September - Ashley Hall in Bath kicks off the run on Sunday 5th followed by Prinrose Hill, Frock me and Clerkenwell - for more information click on the links on the diary page.

Over the Summer I've had a stunning array of hats arrive from the USA and they'll be on sale at the above fairs along with lots of other goodies including Schiaparelli jewellery and fab handbags.

Hope to see many of you soon

It's raining!

Well, August is here so I have a few free weekends and of course it's raining.

Just watched the fantastic new production of Sherlock - an excellent performance from Vinette Robinson (see March entry Chelsea bits!)

News

A quiet and very hot day at Frock Me! last Sunday.  I was like the witch in the Wizard of Oz because I thought I was meltiiiiiiing!  Hopefully it will be slightly cooler this weekend at the fair in Clerkenwell.

I've managed to get the hang of emailing pictures from my phone so I'll be taking a lot more of the stand at the next few fairs.  Just to warn you I'm not the best photographer in the world but they seem to be OK!

Just off to snack on home grown blueberries! Yum!

Have had a busy few weeks - not Vintage wise but personally.  Had a wonderful birthday with a brilliant spa break at the Celtic Manor Resort (those of you interested in golf will know it's the venue for the Ryder Cup later this year). What a place - fantastic!!

Rob had a few weeks holiday so we pottered about in the garden, changed the car and thoroughly chilled out.

Last Sunday it was back to work with a fair at Primrose Hill and this Sunday I'll be at Frock Me! on Kings Road Chelsea.  I may have said it before but I love this fair - the atmosphere is always upbeat and despite the early start it's my favourite one.

I've got a load of stunning hats just arrived from America that will be available at Frock Me! Checkout the pale lavender tilt topper - I'll try to get a photo on this week.

Bits'n'bobs

The fair last Sunday at Clerkenwell was very quiet - but that's the way it goes sometimes.

I'm now looking forward to a few weeks off but I won't be able to put my feet up as the garden needs a major makeover.  Hopefully the hats I've just ordered from America will arrive so that I'll have an excuse to stop weeding and play at being a fashion photographer and get some good pictures for the website.  I can't wait to show them to you - especially the tilt toppers because they are stunning.

The next fairs I'll be at will be Clerkenwell July 25th, Primrose Hill July 11th and Frock Me! on July 18th (an extra date so make a note of it).  With any luck the hats will be on sale at these fairs.

It was my birthday on Saturday - no I'm not saying how old!! I had a great day and a lovely surprise present from Rob - a day at a spa - so this Friday I'm off to be pampered!  Can't wait.

Busy weekend!!

Busy weekend - two fairs this weekend

Ashley Hall Vintage at Stroud on Saturday and Vintage Fashion London at Primrose Hill London on Sunday- see my fairs page for the links which will give more details re times and directions etc

I've just had a lovely selection of hats arrive from the USA and they'll be on sale at both fairs.  One of them is a stunning 1940s straw picture hat trimmed with a large black velvet bow - I could just imagine Katherine Hepburn wearing this with wide palazzo pants and a floral silk blouse.

On a personal note I discovered this week that Tedi, our black 8 month old cat likes melon! He came running into the lounge with the half shell and proceeded to eat it.  He'd got the melon from the bin so I'm going to have to get a lockable one.  I've already given up on all the other waste paper bins in the house because he thinks that throwing things in a bin is a game I've made up just for him!!

New date for Frock Me!

Had a fantastic time at the Frock Me! fair in Chelsea last Sunday even though the weather was so hot.  Sold loads of hats - well Ascot is almost upon us.  Also sold a beautiful Schiaparelli necklace that I have been coveting for a long time but I'm really pleased it went to a lady who will cherish it.

If you haven't been to the Frock Me! fair then it really is worth a visit.  Fantastic stalls selling everything you can imagine.  An extra date for the fair has been added - Sunday 18th July - so make a note in your diary.

On a personal note we celebrated our wedding anniversary last week - ate so much at the Chinese reataurant in Cardiff Bay didn't need to eat for the rest of the week!

Updates

Sunday 9th May - a new fair for me - Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair in (yes, you've guessed it ) Clerkenwell, London.

A really lovely venue with lots of people browsing and buying.  Chatted to a nice young man named Daniel from New York who was killing time browsing the stands as his friends were working there.  He was not impressed by our 3 hour journey from Ewenny to London saying it takes longer than that to cross the New York State.  Well the Americans always claim everything is bigger over there!!!!

Will be at the next fair on Sunday June 20th but may have a bit of a sore head as the day before is my birthday.

This Sunday (May 16th) I'm at another new fair in Earls Court, London.  Reallly looking forward to that and I'll keep you updated as to how it went.  Actually, don't rely on me to tell you how it went - why not come along and find out for yourself!  See my 'fairs page' for details of the link to their website.

On a more personal note - my beans and peas are shooting up - hope there won't be any more frosts.  Well, lets face it - hope the weather improves full stop.

News

A quiet fair at Battersea last weekend so hopefully it will be a lot busier this weekend at the Ashley Hall fair at Bath - for details see my Fairs page.

Have been buying this week so will have new stock for the fair.

On a personal note my peas have sprouted!!

Updates

Hope everyone had a great Easter and over indulged in chocolate!!

Have had two free weekends so I've been getting everything planted in the greenhouse.   Fresh tomatoes off the vine - can't beat them.

Did manage a little shopping trip to a local fair and bought a fantastic 1950's hand bag but can't decide whether it's for stock or my collection!   Also picked up some lovely diamante pieces ready for the Christmas season (yes I know it's months off but you have to be prepared)

This Sunday it's Anita's Vintage fair in Battersea - I really enjoy this fair as the venue is so light and airy. Just deciding what to take.   Definitely on the list is a 1940's suit that is really stunning and just typical of the age.  Also have the perfect hat to go with it.

Chelsea bits!

Had a great day at the FrockMe! fair in Chelsea yesterday - sold a fabulous 1950s black swing coat to a young woman who looked stunning in it  (very envious of her figure!)  - then I sold a 1940's hat to young actress Vinette Robinson who will be appearing in the new BBC production of Sherlock Holmes alongside Benedict Cumberpatch and Martin Freeman.  The icing on the cake for the day was selling a pair of Schiaparelli earrings to actress Cherie Lunghi - the earrings were like her, beautiful, sophisticated but with that hint of fun.

I was also able to help a lovely lady to re-start her Miriam Haskell collection after being burgled and losing all her treasured pieces.  I'd be heartbroken if that happend to me.

Can't wait for the next fair in May!!

A very interesting week -  had an email from the S4C programme 'Wedi 3' asking to borrow some vintage bags for a feature they were planning - the programme aired on Wednesday and my bags looked great !!

Sunday at the Blind Lemon fair in Cheltenham a very famous face was browsing the stalls - Lily Allen - very pretty and a really lovely girl, friendly and very natural.

No fairs this weekend but a day out in Cardiff to watch Wales against Italy in the 6 Nations!

Sunday 28th - FrockMe! in Chelsea - wonder which celebs will be there?

Exciting week!!

On Wednesday the S4C magazine programme 'Wedi 3' featured an item on vintage clothing (apparently Catherine Z-J is into vintage!) and guess whose clothes and hats they used - MINE!!!

You can check it out on www.s4c.co.uk

I'll have them for sale at the FrockMe! Vintage fashion fair in Chelsea this Sunday!!

Hope to see you there

Ashley Hall

Vintage Fashion & Textile Fair Sunday 31st January

See my Vintage Fashion Fairs page for details & a link to their website

Additions!!

Two new additions to the household last week - Taffi & Tedi - two kittens adopted from the Cats Protecion League centre.  It's been chaos but they've settled in really well with us and their 'big brother' Tizzi.

Happy New Year

Hope everyone had a great Christmas - I certainly did.

Time off at the moment with no fairs until the end of January.  I'm hoping the new stock will arrive before then - I'm sure it will.

With so much spare time I'm having great fun updating the website with lots of photos which I hope you find interesting.

Happy New Year everyone - let's hope it's a good one!!

Had a great day at the Blind Lemon fair in Cardiff - film crews everywhere!!  (S4C)  Bonus to the day was that being so close to home I was back in time to watch Dr Who !! I'm a big fan plus Bad Wolf Bay is just down the road.

This weekend sees me travelling a little further - well a lot further actually - to the Battersea Arts Centre in London for Anita's Vintage Fashion Fair.  Looking forward to it a lot but wish I had the Dr's TARDIS 'cos I hate getting up so early (about 3am).  Usually meet next door neighbour's teenagers coming home when I'm just setting off!!

If you get to any of the fairs don't forget to come and say Hi!!

Upcoming fairs

Had a great time at Frock Me! in Chelsea last Sunday.

No fairs this weekend but I've used the time wisely buying lots of goodies for the upcoming fairs.

On Sunday 15th I'll be having a lie in before scooting off the the Blind Lemon fair in City Hall Cardiff.  I'll have lots of bargains with me because I've got to make room for the new stock!  Edwin (Blind Lemon organiser) has announced a new venue in Swansea for the Spring run of fairs so I'll keep you posted on that.
